Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 review: Best and worst features

The 10.1in Android tablet comes with a stylus, true-multitasking, a quad-core processor and the option of voice calling.

1. Multi-tasking

Samsung continues to add multi-tasking features to its range of Android devices. It's possible to run apps side-by-side like you can in Windows, using the Multiscreen feature.

However, Multiscreen is limited to a select few apps at this time. These include the web browser, Polaris Office, S Note, Video Player, Gallery and Email. This is a particularly useful feature for business users and we envisage them using apps such as the email client, video player or web browser side-by-side regularly.

Another way to run multiple apps is to tap on little arrow on the home screen bar and bring up miniaturised version of applications. Again this is limited to basic apps such as the Calendar, S Note and Email.

The Pop-up play feature, which was introduced in the Galaxy S3 has also been ported over to the tablet. When watching a video you click on the pop-out icon and this lets you open any other app whilst keeping the video playing on top. It is possible to adjust the size of the video and move it around the screen manually. This is another nifty little feature which will appease users who like to multi-task on the move.
