A new logo trademark has sparked rumours that Samsung is possibly exploring the idea of smartglasses.
Over the last few years, rumours have circulated that Samsung would look to rival Google Glass with the launch of its own model, packed with more advanced features than the latter.
The Korean tech giant has numerous patents explaining technologies and features for wearable smartglasses that led many to believe it would launch a rival to Google Glass.
According to reports by Sammobile, these rumours are based on their trademark filing's description that reveals a use for "smart glasses, computerised vision-assisted eyewear consisting of a camera/computer". It also frequently mentions vision assistance within the filing.
This follows hot on the heels of Amazon's own rumours around smartglasses although reportedly managed by augmenting smartglasses with Alexa. It's believed this would be done through a bone-conduction audio system that transmits sound through the skull and into a user's ears rather than traditional headphones.
