IBM to refresh Marks and Spencer's retail IT
Systems integration contract with M&S will see IBM handle the updating of the retailer's in-store technology and systems.

Marks and Spencer has signed a three year deal with IBM to refresh its in-store computers and point-of-sale technology.
Under the deal, replacement of key areas of Marks and Spencer's in-store IT in its UK and Ireland stores will be project managed by IBM over the next three years. The replacement system is designed to improve the overall shopping experience for customers, including better and faster service at the tills. This will include the implementation of the Beanstore point-of-sale application from IBM Business Partner PCMS.
"This investment in our store systems is an important part of our store modernisation programme, which is designed to improve the overall shopping experience for our customers, including better and faster service at the till point," said Darrell Stein, IT director at M&S.
