New features for salesforce.com
Salesforcde.com has made extensive changes to its on-demand CRM application and added new additional applications to its range of products.

Salesforce.com announced a whole new range of services and features for its Winter '07 update of the on-demand CRM solution.
The 21st iteration of salesforce.com includes many Web 2.0 type features, including new capabilities for embedded mash-ups, a new Ajax enabled GUI that allows embedding of tools such as Business Objects Crystal Xcelsius, as well as the addition of the Apex programming language, which enables users to fine-tune their current Salesforce implementation, and allows new applications to be built from scratch.
Winter '07 features major advances across the complete Salesforce CRM suite, including Salesforce SFA, Service & Support, PRM, Salesforce Marketing, Apex Analytics and AppExchange Mobile. The Winter '07 update will be available in Personal, Team, Professional, Enterprise and Unlimited Editions.
Other new features include Lotus Notes integration in Salesforce Notes Edition which features bi-directional integration of email, contacts, tasks, and other activities. A ajax calendar to schedule events, meetings and tasks. Automated pop-up reminders that automatically alert users to forthcoming activities,.
New applications include Call Center Edition, which integrates PABX solutions from Cisco, Nortel Alcatel and Avaya and VoIP telephony solutions with Salesforce Service & Support, and a related Service & Support knowledge base for FAQs.
The announcement was made at Dreamforce '06, Salesforce's User and Developer conference where over 5,000 users - up from 3,000 last year - gathered to hear speeches including a keynote by ex-US Secretary of State Colin Powell.
Winter '07 is currently scheduled to be available to all of Salesforce's customers and subscribers worldwide in the fourth quarter of 2006.
