RSPB flocks to the cloud with Redwood Software

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) has rolled out Redwood Software’s cloud automation platform RunMyJobs.

The organisation has turned to RunMyJobs to manage all core automation processes, including monthly direct debit donation collections and Gift Aid claim processing.

The charity had previously been using Redwood’s on-premise automation software Cronacle, but “the need for increased business efficiency, flexibility and a subscription-based payment model led the charity to move to a cloud approach,” Redwood claimed.

The migration took 13 days and was led by the RSPB’s Supporter Data Management team, with minimal support from its IT team, Redwood said.

Andrew Oldham, supporter data manager at the RSPB, said: “It makes a massive difference to us, not having to worry about hardware, infrastructure or maintenance costs. Unlike some typical concerns around cloud applications, with RunMyJobs there are no issues with security – since our data stays remains where it’s always been."

Tijl Vuyk, CEO at Redwood Software, said: “RunMyJobs allows the RSPB to download and deploy the required ‘agent’ software onto as many new systems as they wish – whenever they wish.

“With this first step into the cloud we hope to support the RSPB’s wider goal of developing a business information platform, enabling them to improve data quality, integration and encourage greater supporter engagement,” Vuyk concluded.
