ASG buys visionapp in push to become SaaS leader
visionapp now 'flagship brand' for Allen Systems Group after takeover.

The company behind CloudFactory, visionapp AG, has been brought out by ASG Software Solutions.
Spun-off by the Allianz Group in 2006, as a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service solutions provider, Frankfurt-based visionapp AG has three core modules to its CloudFactory family, including back-end management solution CloudShaper, cloud control engine CloudRobot and web desktop CloudCockpit.
ASG president and chief executive Arthur Allen said yesterday visionapp was now “a flagship brand” under the ASG family of solutions.
“We are now at the forefront of the cloud Software-as-a-Service race,” he claimed. “Together with the visionapp team, we are accelerating our delivery of SaaS solutions to the market.”
Visionapp is used on more than 250,000 desktops worldwide and is used in the public, private and hybrid clouds. The company’s chief executive officer, Juergen Gallman, said the ASG takeover meant the global reach of the CloudFactory suite could be extended.
The terms of the deal have not been released.
