You’re spoilt for choice with Qnap’s latest rack NAS appliance

Not content with offering the biggest range of desktop and rack NAS appliances, Qnap now adds even more choice within specific families. The latest TVS-x71 series comprises three desktop and two rack mount models with the flagship 12-bay TVS-1271U-RP on review available with four different Haswell CPU and memory combinations.
Prices start at around 1,317 for the entry model with a Pentium G3250 and 4GB of RAM, step up to 1,985 for a 3.5GHz Core i3-4150 with 8GB and on to 2,021 for a 3GHz Core i5-4590S and 16GB. The top model has a quad-core 3.2GHz Core i7-4790S and the maximum 32GB of memory with a diskless one costing 2,254.
The entire TVS-x71 series includes quad Gigabit ports that can be aggregated into fault tolerant or load balanced links. They also have two PCI-Express slots and can be upgraded to quad 10GbE using industry-standard Intel and Emulex adapters.
