As some retailers began trading online for the first time during the pandemic, and others saw an increase in their web traffic and online purchases, cyber criminals took advantage of the opportunities presented to them.
Managing this increase in security challenges, with many retailers still using legacy security systems, meant IT team’s cybersecurity workload increased by over 70%; also increasing their security knowledge and skills in the meantime.
