Cable & Wireless and Virgin Media team up in LLU deal
Virgin Media has signed an exclusive LLU deal with Cable & Wireless that will see the two companies working together until 2011.
Virgin Media has entered into a four-year marriage with Cable & Wireless who will become the former's unbundled local loop (LLU) wholesale network provider.
The exclusive partnership will enable Virgin Media to offer broadband, phone and TV services to parts of the UK it can't currently reach, aiding customer retention as well as helping it to attract new customers, thanks to Cable and Wireless' LLU footprint that gives it access to four million additional homes.
"This deal is great news for consumers and an important step towards making Virgin Media a truly national brand," said Neil Berkett, chief operating officer at Virgin Media.
