Amazon Web Services' (AWS) CISO is due to spell out the security benefits of cloud at London's AWS Enterprise Summit next month.

Stephen Schmidt will discuss the competitive, economic and security advantages of migrating to the cloud at the London Excel on 8 November, as AWS continues to pitch its products to enterprise users.

Other talks throughout the day will focus on moving enterprise applications into the public cloud, with customers talking about moving Microsoft, SAP and Oracle applications to AWS, covering both lift and shift' projects and systems that have been re-architected from scratch in the cloud.

Financial Times CTO John Kundert will also share his experience in migrating data warehouse apps to AWS using Amazon Redshift, a petabyte-scale cloud data warehouse product.

Mike Clayville, VP of commercial sales at AWS, will finish the day by talking about how companies who've started their cloud journey can keep up momentum as their cloud strategies evolve.

The AWS Enterprise Summit opens at 8.30am, with keynotes and sessions running throughout the day until 4.30pm, after which there will be a networking reception.

AWS hopes the event will help attendees accelerate cloud adoption in their organisations, hear from existing AWS customers about their own migrations, and find AWS partners who can help them on their cloud journeys.
