Capgemini and AWS have teamed up to offer businesses a robust cloud platform on which to build their digital transformation efforts, the companies have announced in a joint statement.

The partnership will combine the AWS cloud platform with Capgemini's wealth of knowledge in the digital transformation space, offering businesses access to core applications that will boost their digital transformation efforts.

Capgemini explained teaming up with AWS will offer an affordable platform on which its clients can drive productivity and reduce the time it takes for their applications to arrive on the market. Capgemini will focus on developing end-to-end services and systems on AWS integrating its Applied Innovation Exchanges, bringing together automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning in one place.

“Our clients look for global scale and excellence in digital transformation, enabled by cloud technologies," Aiman Ezzat, group executive board member and chief operating officer at Capgemini said. "With a commitment to scaling our AWS capabilities we can bring to our clients’ digital journeys both operational efficiencies and the power of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.”

Capgemini and AWS will focus on migrating SAP applications to the cloud, offering faster application renewal for enterprises and using VMWare cloud on AWS to offer a hybrid infrastructure for businesses not quite ready or able to make the jump to a fully public cloud service.

“Capgemini has already helped many customers leverage the scale, security, and agility of AWS services to innovate on the cloud," Andy Isherwood, vice president and managing director of Amazon Web Services in EMEA said, "This new business group will help organizations of all sizes accelerate their adoption of cloud technologies, and we look forward to collaborating with them to help even more customers on their digital transformation journeys.”
