Salesforce builds out Health Cloud capabilities

Salesforce has enhanced its Health Cloud with three new innovations to make it easier for companies in the health sector to segment patients, identify high-risk patients and build long term relationships with them using data from Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and electronic health records.

Advanced segmentation allows medical professionals to filter patients based on certain data points, including health issues, age or other factors to organise care for them. For example, it can build a group of patients that have matching demographics and health needs so care plans can be built and resources distributed to them at the same time if needed.

Risk Stratification makes use of Salesforce Analytics Cloud to identify the patients with the most needs, or highest risk factors. It calculates risk scores from the data held in Health Cloud and will display the information in customisable dashboards so medics can provide targeted care for them, while also having a top-down view of everyone in their area.

Lead-to-Patient Conversion combines Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and health records to build stronger relationships with those in their care. The data can also be imported from third party sources including data warehouses, patient registration system or electronic health record.

After the information has been imported into Health Cloud, doctors or other medical professionals are able to map patient relationships, create care plans or simply reduce the admin time needed to process patient records.

“We are living in an age where our best experience anywhere is becoming our expectation everywhere, so healthcare providers are under increasing pressure to use modern, smart technology to foster strong patient relationships. In fact, it’s becoming the single biggest differentiator for providers today,” said Joshua Newman, chief medical officer at Salesforce.

Salesforce also announced it will be adding more partners to its rapidly expanding portfolio. Many of the solutions will be available from Salesforce's AppExchange.

“Health Cloud’s new features and growing partner ecosystem solve an impressive and growing range of challenges, giving healthcare providers new tools to interact with their patients and provide them with connected experiences throughout their care journeys,” Newman added.
