Hear free audiobooks with Libby app and Sonos speakers
New integration lets owners of Sonos speakers listen to audiobooks for free

OverDrive, the leading digital reading platform for libraries and schools worldwide, has announced the Libby app is now compatible with all Sonos speakers. When a user connects Libby to their speaker system, they will have access to tens of thousands of titles from their public library. To get started, users only need the Sonos app, the Libby app, and a valid library card.
Available in over 7 million households, Sonos users can connect their speakers with Libby by downloading the Sonos app and connecting it with their existing Libby account. Users will then have access to ebooks and audiobooks through their Loans Shelf and play them on Sonos speakers.
A reader’s progress now syncs with the Libby app too, meaning users can easily switch between devices, like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or other Bluetooth-connected speakers, without losing their spot.
Libby, Available on just about any device, Libby connects readers with their library’s digital collections and allows them to browse the digital collection, borrow titles and start reading or listening, so long as they have a valid library card.
"This new Sonos compatibility is our latest response to how librarians are evolving to best promote and provide access to books and reading anytime, anywhere," shared Shannon Lichty, vice president of partner services at OverDrive. "Our partnership with Sonos for public library audiobooks will enable millions of households to enjoy the sounds and narration of a great story anywhere a Sonos speaker is connected."
Sonos owners who want to try Libby can download it from the Apple, Android or Windows app stores. Once installed, pair Libby with your Sonos app and get ready to sit back, relax, and knock out that lengthy to-be-read all avid readers are known to have.
