Microsoft supercharges Yammer with Android Wear & Handoff support

Microsoft has updated its Yammer apps, allowing the enterprise collaboration tool to support Android Wear compatible smartwatches and the Handoff in iOS 8.

Android users will have notifications pushed to a smartwatch and will be able to 'like' incoming messages and reply using voice commands.

Meanwhile, iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite users will be able to start using Yammer on an iPhone or iPad and then carry on where they left off if they transition to a Mac midway through a task.

Microsoft has also added interactive notifications to its apps and made it easier to share content from Safari and Chrome.

"We want to craft intuitive, powerful mobile experiences that enable teams to collaborate openly, individuals to scale their impact and organisations to bring down silos so everyone can do more and achieve more," it was noted on The Yammer blog.

Since mid-2014, Yammer has pushed out updates on a weekly basis. Previous improvements have included adjustments to search and notifications, and the firm has also increased message translation to cover 25 languages.
