Google could be working on two new Nexus smartphones for 2015, reports claim
Google may release two new Nexus smartphones in 2015, GottaBeMobile reports, including a flagship device and budget option manufactured by Chinese company Huawei.
Rumours surrounding plans for Nexus in 2015 have been building of late, but some clearer details are starting to emerge. Current rumours have Google releasing another higher-end device similar to 2014's Nexus 6 phablet, with a budget device reportedly set to arrive alongside it.
The flagship phone would likely be manufactured by LG once again, while the cheaper alternative is said to be going in a different direction entirely.
It is being speculated that Google is planning on turning to a Chinese manufacturer to make the low-end device, with iSuppli's Kevin Yang "confirming"the choice to be Huawei.
Google used Motorola for the Nexus 6, the most expensive Nexus phone ever at 499-549.
In our list of the Nexus 6's best features, we singled out its "turbo" battery life, large display, powerful specs and water resistance as some of its best offerings. It was also the first device to ship with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop last year.
The phablet was released as a direct rival to Apple's iPhone 6 Plus, with both devices boasting larger screens and high-end performance. Google also released the Nexus 9 tablet and Nexus Player in 2014.
