When will I get Android M?

LG

LG G4

The LG G4 was the first non-Google-branded device to get the Android M update. It launched first in Poland (interesting choice, LG) in the week commencing 19 October, serving as a test case for the update on LG's hardware.

The official update is expected to roll out in other territories over the next few weeks, although the company hasn't revealed which countries will get it next as yet.

"By working closely with Google, LG has been able to bring Android 6.0 to the G4 ahead of any of our competitors," said Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG.. "While speed alone isn't an indicator of great service, it does go a long way toward giving consumers the confidence that LG is committed to its existing customers first."

LG G3

The LG G3 will also be getting the Android Marshmallow update in the coming months, with the LG Korean support page showing it as an option. As it's an older handset, the company is likely to see how the update fares on the newer LG G4 before it makes the move to roll it out to the LG G3, which launched last year.

LG G2

Surprisingly, the even-older LG G2 will also be getting the Android M update and rumours suggest it will be hitting the devices in November - that could be less than a week away! The G2 was spotted on a benchmarking database running Android Marshmallow, suggesting someone, somewhere is already testing its performance.

Other LG devices

Although there's no word from either LG itself or UK networks, it would seem US carriers are more inclined to hint at the updates for its LG-branded devices. In particular, T-Mobile has revealed the update will be arriving on the LG G Flex 2, for sure, but no word from LG or UK networks on whether it's coming to the LG Leon 4G as yet.
