100,000 Bulldog Broadband customer details stolen
Customer contact details "illegally obtained" by unnamed individuals two years ago, according to former owners.

100,000 subscribers to ISP Bulldog Broadband have been urged to contact its former owners, Cable & Wireless, following the news that their personal details have been stolen.
C&W said that it has become apparent that in December 2005 contact details were stolen, resulting in a number of unsolicited calls being made to 'a small number' of customers. But it stressed that there is no evidence that bank or credit card details were used illegally, though it is not clear whether they were among the information that was stolen.
A spokeswoman said that it is taking legal action against those who it believes carried out the theft.
C&W sold Bulldog's residential and small business broadband business to Pipex last year but retained its LLU network.
