Virgin Media cuts price of 50Mbps broadband
It may only be for the first three months, but Virgin has cut the price of its high-speed broadband.

Virgin Media has cut the price of its 50Mbps broadband - but don't get too excited, it is a limited offer.
The price of its XXL broadband package has fallen to 18 per month from 35 but this is only for the first three months, as well as on the proviso you sign up for a phone line. After this period is up the price will rise to 28, still a 7 drop from before.
The speedy broadband without phone line was priced at 50 per month but this has also dropped, down to 33 and then 38 after the same three month period.
A spokesperson from Virgin Media told IT PRO: "50Mbps broadband may not be a mass market product but with our network reaching so many homes in the UK since the summer, we now have the means to lower our prices so more people can take advantage if they choose."
As well as its 50Mbps roll out, the company began trialling 200Mbps broadband to a lucky 100 users in Kent this summer, which the spokesperson claimed was "so much faster than anything else out there."
