You may already have heard of CloudMade as it appears to be a regular recipient of various awards for development toolsets. If you need to integrate maps and location enabled services into your web based application the CloudMade API's are a good starting point. I managed to put together a working example, which integrates with Facebook, in just a few hours, and it has tools available for integrating with mobile, web, iPhone and iPad applications.

A general set of web based tools that is well worth a look, particularly for Java and JavaScript developers, are the Google Closure Tools, available from Google Code Labs. Closure Tools consists of a range of utilities but the Closure Compiler and Linter tools stand out and can help make stylish optimised code.
