About the Event

As more companies look to move their business applications into the Cloud we'll discuss the key benefits that the Cloud offers from instant access to the latest highly functional business applications to reduced IT system management and maintenance.

We'll look at how Microsoft Office 365 offers a fully integrated platform for collaboration, with email, instant messaging, voice, video, conferencing, document management and content management, all delivered through a familiar, consistent user experience across any device.

We'll also discuss how Windows Azure opens up access to other powerful complimentary cloud applications, such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online and Windows Intune as well as a complete platform for integrating and housing a wide range of third party or legacy systems in the cloud.

Whether you are looking to adopt Office 365 as part of a pure cloud strategy or looking to deploy specific components in a hybrid strategy, we'll examine the key factors that you need to consideras you migrate your existing systems or deploy new Microsoft applications in the Cloud.

Finally, you will hear from other customer organisations who have successfully adopted the Cloud with Microsoft Office 365 as they explain why they did it, how they did it, and the benefits that they have gained.

This event will help you prepare your organisation to make your own journey to the Cloud as smooth as possible.

9.30IntroductionBrian Henry VP Microsoft Business Development, Ciber UK
9.45The Benefits of the Cloud and Office 365James Akrigg, Head of Technology for Partners, Microsoft UKJames will present Microsoft's Cloud Vision and describe how more and more organisations across industry are transitioning their IT software and services into the cloud with Microsoft. He will look at how an organisation can achieve a completely integrated experience for employees and customers using key products such as Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint and Lync whilst delivering major benefits to organisational productivity. He will explain how system management tools, including InTune and System Center, dramatically streamline the management of users and their devices and how, once you have provisioned an Office 365 instance, you then have access to the amazing potential of the wider Windows Azure platform. He will also focus on how the flexibility of public, private, and hybrid options, offers your organisation the ability to move to "Cloud on your terms". Finally, he will explain how the service levels offered by Microsoft's data centres deliver levels of system security, performance and resilience that few individual organisations could afford to put in place whilst meeting exacting data privacy and compliance requirements.
10.15The User Experience A Key to Improved Personal and Organisational ProductivityJamie Bulmer, Microsoft Solution Architect, Ciber UKJamie will focus on how Office 365 delivers the best user experience across multiple device types to ensure a consistent, rewarding and productive way of working. He will provide illustrations of how you can work from virtually anywhere using the Office applications you trust across your favourite devices - PCs, Macs, and mobile devices looking at how you can create, store, edit, and share Office docs online, so they're available wherever you and your teammates are working and how you can access, edit, and view Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents on iPhones, Android phones, and Windows Phones to stay productive on the move. He will also describe how you can use SharePoint to collaborate with teammates, partners, and customers using documents that are always up to date and accessible from almost anywhere and share how easy it is to keep everyone in sync with enterprise-grade email and shared calendars and you can connect immediately or set up and host online meetings with multi-party HD video conferencing, real-time note taking, and screen sharing.

11.30Making Your Journey to the CloudJim McMillan, VTPS* and Lead Infrastructure Architect, Ciber UKJim will examine how you can prepare your organisation for cloud migration and provide insight on key issues such as managing your users, managing cloud identity, access and security, and managing the infrastructure and the device to ensure that users can always connect to the services that they need. He will explain how the role of IT shifts from running and maintaining systems to service delivery, supporting innovation within the organisation through the adoption of additional services that deliver a rewarding user experience and deliver greater productivity and efficiency. He will discuss how the use of "an Evergreen" Cloud platform, which is always up to date with the latest product versions, dramatically reduces the administration, security, performance and continuity management of your IT systems.
12.00Tales from the Cloud - Sharing The Customer ExperienceHear how other organisations have embraced the Cloud with Office 365 as they describe why they did it, how they did it, and the benefits that they have gained.Metro Bank Paul Marriott-Clarke, Commercial Director The UK's first new retail bank in 125 years invested in Microsoft Office 365 to drive a unique employee and customer experience that combines the traditional values of face to face service in store with efficient business processes to offer simpler, more convenient banking to customers. Exchange and SharePoint provide a strong foundation for collaboration, Lync and Yammer extend this into instant messaging, video conferencing, integrated telephony and enterprise social media, and Dynamics CRM Online unifies all customer information and a single view of all customer interactions. This all delivered in a single, integrated and familiar platform including the use of Windows 8 Tablet Devices in store to keep Metro Bank's personnel connected and informed and empower them to deliver good service. Christian Aid Phillip Humphries, Head of ICT The international development charity works in over 50 countries to eradicate poverty, with many of its 850 personnel working overseas. The organisation was keen to improve the performance and resilience of its IT systems, to ensure that its personnel could access the corporate systems and services that they needed at all times. The migration of their Exchange systems into the cloud on Office 365 has improved the access, performance and scalability of their email systems and the use of Windows Azure to mirror their Active Directory Domain also ensures that, in the event of any failure in their own data centre, users can connect to Exchange and to other vital systems via single sign-on.Integreon Bob Gogel, CEO Integreon is a major international provider of integrated legal, research and business support solutions to a range of organisations including law firms, leading corporations and financial services organisations. With over 2,000 employees across UK, US, Asia and Australia they introduced a complete cloud solution. Through Exchange Online they have consolidated multiple email systems into a single group wide email instance whilst SharePoint has provided all staff with an intranet that can be accessed easily from a range of devices including smart phones and kiosks installed in some of their locations. Dynamics CRM Online ensures that staff can see all customer information and Lync is providing massive improvements in the immediacy of communications as well as major savings on communications charges.
