Software AG is moving its whole cloud portfolio to run on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The move comes as the middleware firm announced its “Transformation in the Cloud” initiative that it claims will help customers choose the best cloud stategy for their organisation.

AWS already hosts a number of services from Software AFG, including the Alfabet Cloud and ARIS Cloud product suites, which provide IT planning and portfolio management and business process analysis, but the middleware vendor has now said its webMethods Integration Cloud will also be deployed on AWS this year.

The webMethods product is an integration Platform-as-a-Service (iPaaS) for cloud-to-cloud integration and connections with private cloud or on-premise enterprise service bus installations on AWS.

The vendor's also porting its webMethods AgileApps Cloud, a PaaS and on-premise solution for creating situational and case management apps, to also run off AWS.

Wolfram Jost, CTO at Software AG, said his firm was “committed to increasing customer choice and ease of use wherever possible and transformation to the cloud is a significant step in this direction, delivering increased enterprise flexibility and adaptability".

“Not only does this help enterprises and government departments to design and implement individual cloud strategies and architectures, it does so from the cloud, delivering cost efficiencies from the start,” he added.

Software AG said that it had chosen AWS as its global IaaS supplier due to the cloud giant’s “size and brand awareness among large scale enterprises and due the resulting excellent operational efficiencies.”

Terry Wise, VP at AWS, added: “Today, more than ever before, leading independent software vendors are looking for IT solutions that allow them to move quickly, reduce costs, and better serve their customers."

“Software AG is a leading example of an innovative software vendor going all in on AWS to leverage our secure, robust infrastructure platform, and expanding global footprint to build highly differentiated, value-added solutions for their customers.”
