iPhone 7 screen

One of the biggest changes on the iPhone 6s was the 3D Touch screen - an advancement on the Force Touch technology seen on the Apple Watch and most recent MacBook.

3D Touch allows sensors below the screen to detect whether the user has applied a tap, a press, or a deep press. It is this deep press recognition that is used for Live Photos, as well as 'Peeks' which let you see previews of emails, websites and photos, and 'Pops', which let you open the full email, site or photo simply by pressing down harder.

The iPhone 6s also introduced a new kind of glass to the iPhone screen, created using dual ion exchange, which Apple claims has made it the strongest glass used on any smartphone in the world. We would expect this material to feature again on the iPhone 7 range.

Siri

Siri

Siri has been part of iPhone since 2010, so its appearance on iPhone 7 is almost a given, however, Apple has been introducing greater functionality into the program recently, and it now sits at the heart not just of iPhone, but also iPads, Apple TV and the company's burgeoning smart home ecosystem.

With that in mind, the "Hey Siri" function introduced in iPhone 6s will undoubtedly be included, with deeper integration with Home Kit also a possibility.
