The best antivirus deals for Black Friday

It is that time of year again when the internet is awash with deals, cut-price goods, and bargains aplenty. However, Black Friday is also a good time to update your antivirus software and secure your phone, laptop, and computer for a really cheap price (for a year, at least!).

With more and more of our services online now, cloud security is imperative. If hackers get access to one of your accounts, they could feasibly crack into all of them - that's really how you should think of it. So you need the likes of McAfee, Kaspersky, Bitdefender, and there is no better time to invest in them, than right now.

Bitdefender Antivirus Plus

Lots of things are annotated as "Plus" these days, but with the Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, it actually does come with that little bit extra. It's an excellent antivirus package filled with lots of security-centric features, such as password management, security for online transactions, ransomware protection, and also a VPN.

All that would normally set you back £39.99, per year, but it's available for £12, a 70% discount, and £28 saving. This is just for one year and the deal ends on Friday 26 November.

McAfee Total Protection

When antivirus giant McAfee says "total" it means it; the company's Total Protection software takes care of all your devices - phone, tablet, laptop, and PC - and secures your data. This includes cross-platform password management, VPN protection, identity monitoring, identity theft insurance, and much more.

This truly comprehensive package is available for just £27.49, per year, for two years until 26 November. Normally it's 70% more at £89.99 per year.

Kaspersky Total Security

When it comes to picking the right antivirus package, it's often the extras that seal the deal. Some products include antivirus, firewall protection, spam filters, parental controls, and not a lot else. Then there are others, such as Kaspersky Total Security which comes with top extras like file encryption, backup systems, and enhanced parental controls. It comes with some features you never knew you needed, according to IT Pro's review.

For this very reason, it's quite an expensive suite, around £39.99 per year, but for one time only you can get it for £11.99 - a 70% discount.

Kaspersky, again, comes up trumps for security software deals, this time it's the Security Cloud suite. This offers everything Total Security does, but it also includes platform-specific protections the company calls "Adaptive security".

There are two editions of the suite - personal and family - and it is usually quite expensive. However, £49.99 per year is cut to just £14.99 per year until Friday 26 November.

Avast Ultimate Security for Mac

Apple would like users to think that malware is only a problem for Android, but sadly it is also something for MacBook owners to worry about. Thankfully there is dedicated protection in the form of Avast Ultimate Security for Mac. This includes malware protection, a network security scanner, and a speedy installation.

Normally you'd need to pay £59.99 for such a suite, but Avast is offering 70% off for Black Friday, so it can be yours for just £24.99, for one year only.
