Photos: Tech workers go nude for charity calendar

A nude tech calendar, which sees various tech entrepreneurs both male and female in various states of undress, is now available to preorder.

The proceeds from the calendar girls-style project will go to charity Take Heart India, set up to help disabled young people in India start their own businesses.

The calendar was dreamed up by Milo Yiannopoulous, contributing editor for TechCrunch Europe. He said that the calendar was originally started "as a joke", but that he had a habit of taking jokes seriously and doing them.

The entrepreneurs in the calendar are all leading members of tech start-ups in London.

Yiannopoulous knew the tech community quite well, and simply asked around for people who he thought would be suitable.

"It came to sitting them down, explaining that it would be tasteful and artistic and not exploitative, and in the end we got more than enough people of both genders," he told IT PRO.

Yiannopoulous said that early on there were "feminist bloggers" who had a problem with it, but that the rows blew over quickly.

"All of the coverage we've had has all been very positive, very encouraging, and will hopefully drive sales," he said of the media attention.

Asked if there were plans to make it a second calendar next year, Yiannopoulous said that it was a lot of work to organise 24 photo shoots in two months.

"All of the post production, and to put that all in a printed product in two months is an extraordinary thing to try and do," he said.

"We needed a team of ten and 15 people volunteering for two months to get it done," he added.
