Dell confirms post-Brexit price rises across B2B portfolio
IT spending costs set to increase following sterling's drop in value after the EU referendum

Dell is set to raise its business IT prices in response to Brexit, as UK businesses face increased IT costs as a result of the vote to leave the European Union.
Other organisations have not ruled out price hikes, while OnePlus gave notice that it plans to raise the cost of its OnePlus 3 phone to 329 earlier this week, after sterling's value fell to a 31-year decline following Brexit.
A Dell spokesman toldIT Pro: "We carefully consider price moves for our customers and partners, and have worked diligently over the past several months to postpone any increases pending the outcome of the EU referendum.
"In line with the rest of the industry, our component costs are priced in US dollars, and unfortunately, the recent strengthening of the US dollar versus sterling and other currencies in the EMEA region following the UK's decision to leave the European Union, will have a direct impact on the price we sell some of our products to our UK enterprise customers and partners. The exact price change will vary across our portfolio, and consumer products are currently not affected."
The spokesman added: "We understand that this is an uncertain time for many British businesses and we will continue to work closely with our customers and partners to provide great value products and services."
Lenovo is also potentially considering price changes to counter the effect of the falling pound, according toBloomberg.
According to the newswire, Lenovo is considering price rises and a potential job cuts to combat the economic fallout of the Brexit vote.
CFO Wai Ming Wong, in response to a question from reporters about job cuts in EMEA, said: "I wouldn't exactly want to nail down to something. If you were to cut costs, is it really headcount that's the only area?"
A Lenovo spokesman toldIT Pro: "Obviously this is top of mind for our business at the moment and should we make any changes to our pricing strategies we will be in touch."
