IT Pro is taking part in this year's IT Press Tour, which brings European journalists to California to meet with local tech companies and startups. On the fifth and final day of the IT Press Tour, we met Aptare.

In Campbell, CEO Richard Clark, VP of engineering Graeme Kelly and VP of customer advocacy Rich Rose talked to us about their company, which was founded in 1993.
Aptare produces a console which allows businesses to monitor and control a global IT infrastructure. The console gives you an end to end view of cloud, storage, data protection and virtualised systems. It can significantly reduce costs in storage for businesses as users can see enterprise data wherever it resides. It supports various storage and backup systems including OpenStack, software-defined storage, and hybrid infrastructures.
Apatare has just under a 1,000 customers in total around the world, including Banco Ita, Verizon and Lloyds Bank. It's a private, non-VC funded company, used by 35% of Fortune 100 companies. It claims to manage around 8 or 9 exabytes of data in total.
CEO Clark said: "We are providing instrumentation to optimise your IT infrastructure". He added that the company created this platform with the hope that Aptare becomes the de facto standard for IT analytics by optimizing complex IT environments today and in the future.
