Asda to launch social networking site
One of the UK’s biggest supermarket chains is planning on launching a social networking site to allow customers and staff to interact.

Supermarket giant Asda is launching a social networking site for customers and staff.
The site, named "Your Asda," isn't live at present but should be launched before the end of the week.
A spokesperson for the company told IT PRO: "We used to have a corporate site which was a platform for shareholders, the media, MPs etc to find out what we were doing but it was quite dry."
"Asda wanted to move with the times and show people what we were doing with more user friendly content."
The website will features lots of multimedia such as videos and photos in addition to blogs from senior staff members and customer feedback forums.
The homepage will also feature Asda's live Twitter feed.
In addition, the site will include a section called "The Green Room," designed for employees to share news and content between stores as well as putting their points across to Asda management.
