IBM to open financial analytics centre in London
Looking to take advantage of the city's strength in finance, IBM is planning on opening a financial analytics centre.

IBM will open a centre in London concentrating on how business analytics should be used in the financial sector.
The announcement came at the same time as IBM unveiled a big push in the business analytics space at its Information on Demand (IOD) conference in Las Vegas.
The Analytic Solution Centre' will harness IBM's expertise on how business analytics can be used to improve the way financial companies use the information they have.
Washington will also have a new centre focusing on cyber security, while New York, Washington, Tokyo, China and Berlin already have centres focusing on vertical industries as well as research, mathematics and information management.
Anant Jhingran, chief technology officer for information management at IBM, said that the centres were set up with the view that deploying analytic technologies was not always easy, sometimes due to the structure of an organisation.
