Mobile phone guilty pleasures

Like Angry Birds, Cut the Rope is an addictive physics-based games that has shot to the top of the iPhone downloads chart for a reason.

It's based upon the same premise as Angry Birds: keep it simple and people will flock to buy it.

You can to cut a hanging rope with candy on the end strategically, taking into account swing, drop rate and angles, to get the candy into a frog's mouth. This is trickier than it sounds, because you'll have to cut the correct rope if there's more than one, swing the candy from one rope to another, use bubbles to raise the candy up, then pop at the right time and later, try to avoid hazards such as spikes, from smashing the brightly coloured sweet.

Cut the Rope is a great physics-based casual game and although all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, spending your time trying to feed a frog candy probably isn't the best way to spend your office hours.
