London startup hub Techspace expands to Berlin
The new co-working space will help Berlin's shortage of office space for startups and early stage tech businesses

UK company Techspace, a provider of technology-focused co-working spaces, has expanded its operation internationally, opening a new office in Germany.
It will be located on Lobeckstrasse, in the Kreuzberg area of Berlin and offer 450 workstations, which will go some way to solving the shortage of startup office space in the city.
"The ever-growing number of startups in Berlin has put the squeeze on resources and infrastructure," David Galsworthy, CEO and co-founder of Techspace, said.
"Office spaces are scarce and there are few new developments expected to open in the city until 2019. At a time when Berlin needs to be establishing its credibility as a tech hub that can support fast-growing scale-up businesses, it's a problem that needs to be resolved quickly and we feel that it's important we support the growth of the ecosystem with the launch of our largest space to date."
The workspace, like Techspace's other co-working spaces dotted around London, has been designed to accommodate scale-up technology companies, offering new and rapidly expanding businesses more ownership of their office environment. For example, they are able to brand their workspace and some communal meeting spaces with their company logo.
Techspace believes giving businesses more flexibility will make the space feel more like their very own office, which is important for success.
"Given our singular focus on helping technology companies to grow and become more productive through better workspaces, the Berlin expansion is a natural move for Techspace," Galsworthy added.

"It keeps us at the heart of the burgeoning technology community in Berlin and further positions us as a partner for helping businesses to grow, regardless of the size of the technology company. The city has an established reputation as a hub for technology innovation and we want to facilitate the city's next phase of growth."
