Virtual Instruments partners with Cisco
The partnership means businesses can monitor their applications using VirtualWisdom

Virtual Instruments and Cisco have teamed up to offer businesses a simplified availability monitoring platform to help companies monitor data from Cisco's MDS 9700 32G Module and SAN streaming solution.
The partnership will see Virtual Instruments' Infrastructure Performance Management platform VirtualWisdom channel the data, ensuring their infrastructure is performing to its optimum when running business-critical applications.
Alongside making it a simpler process and offering more granular insights into data usage, the two companies said it provides significant cost savings, by offering an alternative to traditional hardware-based methods of monitoring and managing the health, performance and utilisation of their SAN infrastructure.
"Our technology integration initiatives with Cisco are highly strategic for our company, as we and our channel partners are now able to offer our app-centric infrastructure performance monitoring solutions to a larger portion of our installed customers, as well as a significantly expanded set of enterprise and mid-market customers," said Philippe Vincent, CEO of Virtual Instruments.
"With the Cisco integration, our customers can seamlessly gain the visibility of a fully instrumented infrastructure in the context of the application. This will vastly simplify IT infrastructure management, ensuring the highest availability and performance of their mission-critical apps and services."
The partnership will allow both businesses to access a wider range of customers too, because customers that can't afford to implement physical network TAPs and probes can monitor data throughput using Virtual Instruments' appliance.
"The combination of Cisco SAN Telemetry Streaming and Virtual Instruments' VirtualWisdom analytics platform provides unmatched FC SAN infrastructure monitoring and analytics capabilities at an unprecedented value for customers needing to monitor SAN infrastructure in real time," Thomas Scheibe, senior director of product management for Cisco Data Center added.
