Outcomes4Me raises $4.7M for its AI-powered breast cancer care app
The free mobile app will better inform patients about treatment options and clinical trials
Outcomes4Me, a free mobile app and platform for cancer patients to navigate cancer treatment and care, has raised $4.7 Million in a funding round led by Asset Management Ventures. Others participating in the funding round included Sierra Ventures, Merstal Ltd. and the National Cancer Institute.
Outcomes4Me said it’ll use the funds to expand its reach to a larger number and variety of breast cancer patients.
“Outcomes4Me is the first commercially available app to offer all breast cancer patients a personalized evidence-based experience to help them navigate their care, irrespective of their geography or healthcare provider,” said Outcomes4Me.
The HIPAA-compliant app uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to analyze medical records and provide patients with actionable and timely information.
The technology has already been applied to medical records from more than 700 institutions in the United States and Canada, giving organizations valuable insights into treatment protocols, clinical outcomes and patient-reported outcomes.
The app also provides access to various resources, including information previously targeting physicians only, such as the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Clinical (NCCN) Practice Guidelines and drug information from evidence-based clinical decision support provider UpToDate.
