EE says network is back after 4G outage
EE hasn't explained what's behind widespread issues
EE customers are struggling to get online after data issues hit the network.
The telecoms giant hasn't yet identified the source of the problem, but it appears to be spread across the UK. It is only affecting 4G and 3G data services, not voice.
According to Down Detector, parts of the network have been down since 8am this morning, with outages reported in Belfast, Glasgow, London and elsewhere across the country.
Frustrated users have reported seeing a message reading: "Could not connect to mobile network data. PDP authentication failure".
EE's Twitter account said: "We're aware of a data issue affecting 4G internet connectivity on some services for a few customers this morning. Voice is unaffected. We're working to fix the issue ASAP."
A spokesperson told IT Pro that full service was restored 40 minutes ago, but users are still reporting faults online. If you are still having trouble getting online, it's worth restarting your phone.
"We had a data issue affecting some internet services for some of our customers on 4G," the spokesperson said. "Phone calls and text messages were unaffected, and some internet services continued to work as usual. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
