FIRMUS has raised $4.5 million in seed funding for its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered construction platform.

The Israeli AI and computer vision startup specializes in advanced computer vision techniques that assess construction blueprints, in addition to automatically detecting design errors, which contribute to inaccurate pricing estimates, revision on-site, project delays, legal disputes, and more.

According to the firm, its latest funding will be instrumental in bringing data-driven decision-making capabilities and AI-based risk management early into construction projects.

“Implementing any design into construction carries risks for all project stakeholders. FIRMUS is here to change that by empowering contractors to effectively assess design completeness, correctness, and readiness for construction, so they can bid and build with confidence,” said Shir Abecasis, FIRMUS CEO.

Navitas Capital co-founder and managing partner Travis Putnam commented, “FIRMUS is an incredibly talented team applying artificial intelligence and computer vision technology to better manage design risk in construction. Through an automated approach, FIRMUS delivers tangible value to customers via more efficient construction processes and improved project outcomes.”

Rogers O’Brien, Nibbi Brothers and Build Group are among the early users of FIRMUS’ platform.

“Listening to our forward-thinking customers, we’ve all developed a constantly growing passion to relentlessly help them achieve their goals,” added Abecasis.
