IT Pro Leader Board: 2012 tech hopes

Leader board

2011 was a year of great change and achievement in the tech industry. Many products were launched - and many patent battles followed - and many promises were made for the developments and enhancements users can expect in the year ahead.

I also wonder if 2012 will be the year we build for social and mobile' first and traditional web second.

Here are the IT Pro Leader Board members' hopes for tech in 2012.

"For 2012, my biggest hopes are that these green shoots grow to a forest of fulfilled promises. As a passionate advocate of the difference IT can make to an organisation/the world, we've now got some great tools to delight our customers.

Will 2012 be the year this all does truly come together? And [the year of] my ultimate goal, showing that often IT delivery speed isn't really the main governor of business change?

I also wonder if 2012 will be the year we build for social and mobile' first and traditional web second."

Paul Feldman, IS director, Cancer Research

"That, through innovation, we start to make consistent personal identity and the required security a reality."
