Samsung unveils 4G-ready Galaxy Express

Smartphone giant Samsung has announced details of its new 4G-ready Galaxy Express smartphone.

The device will be available to buy during the first half of 2013, the firm said, but was unable to provide further details about which networks will carry it.

At the moment, EE is the only mobile operator in the UK offering 4G, while its rivals are expected to follow suit some time in the summer following the results of the Ofcom spectrum auction.

Along with 4G connectivity, the Galaxy Express is equipped with many other features, including a 4.5" Super AMOLED Plus screen and runs the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system.

It also features AllShare Play, which allows device-to-device sharing between the Galaxy Express and other Smart mobile devices, and Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities.

Powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, the Galaxy Express boasts 8GB User Memory plus 1GB (RAM). The smartphone also has a five-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 1.3- megapixel front camera.

The device is the latest addition to the firm's all-conquering Samsung Galaxy range, which has enabled it in recent years to make a serious dent in Apple's smartphone market supremacy.
