The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 is a buttery smooth and bright tablet – but the real star is its new and improved stylus

Lenovo is coming to IFA 2026 with a whole new line of Yoga devices, including a new Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2. Naturally, on-device AI dominates the marketing here, as it does with seemingly everything. But look beyond that, and you'll see that what Lenovo has in its Yoga Tab is a tablet that's better than it has ever been.

More specifically, our focus was drawn to its accessories, which left a great first impression during our sneak peek of the Yoga Tab Plus, ahead of IFA 2026.

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2: Design

The Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 is a generously sized 13in tablet. With the keyboard attached, it has some heft to it, though on its own the tablet only weighs 605g. It's 8.27mm thick, which is considerably more than the Galaxy Tab S11 and the M5 iPad Pro.

The 13in display is crisp and clean, with a 3:2 ratio and a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate. It appears to also be a very bright panel, with the Lenovo drawing app showcasing a luminous white screen when opened.

At face value, the Yoga Pen Pro Gen 2 looks pretty standard, and some of its controls are already in use on iPads and the OnePlus Pad 3. But there are two additions here that really impressed us. The first is the eraser; like a real pencil with a rubber on the end, you can simply turn the Yoga Pen Pro upside down and use the back end of the stylus to erase your work – which is cute and clever.

The second is the haptic feedback. Both ReMarkable and Huawei have produced pens that can almost replicate the feel of a pen on paper. They have the scratch and resistance. Lenovo has gone in a slightly different direction with a Yoga Pen Pro in that it seems to have a little rattle, a little life in it.

It doesn't necessarily give the impression of pencil on paper, but it doesn't slide around the screen either – there's a good degree of control that you don't get with other styluses. In my ten minutes with the Pro, I drew one of the Berlin Bears that was nearby, and it was done with ease. This is something I would be excited to try with the Android Sketchbook app.

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2: Specifications

A Snapdragon 8 Elite chip powers the Tab Plus, and it's paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD. You can also expand that up to 2TB with an SD card, which is great for those who will use it for creative purposes, as files eat up storage.

Other features include a USB-C port, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0. There is an 8MP front camera, and on the rear 13MP and 2MP lenses – we didn't really get much time to test these out, though tablet cameras are largely unnecessary save for video calls. And, out of the box, the Yoga Pad Pro Gen 2 will support Android 17.

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2: First impressions

Admittedly, the tablet's build isn't as impressive as its competitors. It's not particularly slim in comparison to the iPad Pro, or OnePlus Pad 3, or Galaxy Tab S11, but the argument Lenovo can make here is that thinness is not super important. The user experience is. And having used it at IFA, we can say it was a good experience.

The Yoga Pen Pro Gen 2, however, is a joyous little accessory. One we would happily take home and use repeatedly. Once again, Lenovo has shown a different way to look at our everyday technology, and its Yoga Pen Pro is mighty.
