Capgemini sweetens digital collaboration at chocolate manufacturer
Barry Callebaut migrates to Google G Suite to help boost employee productivity
Capgemini has enabled better digital collaboration at Belgian chocolatier Barry Callebaut, helping employees across the globe work better together everyday.
The consultancy implemented Google's G Suite across the entire organisation, offering the traditional business the strategic, technical and change management services it needed to get the company's 10,000 employees up and running.
“We chose to work with Capgemini because of their experience and comprehensive approach to a global roll-out. Capgemini has a uniquely collaborative change management style, extensive project experience and end-to-end expertise for every stage in the implementation process,” Steven Vandamme, chief information officer of Barry Callebaut, said.
The implementation means everyone at Barry Callebaut is able to communicate with customers and manage content wherever they may be across the globe, with deep mobile integration too so employees can keep in touch even if they're not at their desks.
“We can now really build on each others’ thoughts and I think that this has also improved our levels of service and the kinds of products we offer to our customers," Peter Boone, chief innovation officer at Barry Callebaut, added.
The two companies have been working together since 2012 and have a number of other initiatives in the pipeline both to encourage deeper collaboration and other areas of Barry Callebaut's business as it seeks to transform into a digital innovator.
“As a forward-thinking organisation, Barry Callebaut wanted to move away from using predominantly email and cumbersome databases for collaboration and knowledge-sharing without compromising document security," Maarten De Schepper, business development manager digital of Capgemini Belgium, said.

"We are pleased to see that the implementation of G Suite has brought the entire organisation a higher level of real-time collaboration and as a result, increased productivity."
