iPad Air vs Sony Xperia Z2: Which is best?
Can the Android KitKat tablet topple the iOS heavyweight?
The iPad Air ships with the redesigned iOS 7.1 operating system. Apple is good at keeping its products up to date and you're guaranteed to get updates directly from Apple.
Sony's Xperia Z2 Tablet comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat as standard. Sony isn't as good at keeping its products up to date - and Android updates are patchy as they are pushed through by carriers.
Android allows all apps to work on tablets, whereas iPad specifically requests developers to make apps for iPads. This means the Z2 will have more content available, but the quality of apps is better on the iOS device.
iOS is the more secure OS as Apple vets all apps before they are allowed into the store whereas Android has a infamous malware problem. Management is similar with both operating system compatible with a variety of third-party tools.
Sony does offer a range of freebies with the Z2. If you pick up the slate before the end of June in the UK you can get your hands on a bunch of free movies, a couple of free games and a month trial of Sony's music streaming service.
Winner iPad Air - It's a close call here but we'd be tempted to side with iOS as it is better suited for business deployment due to security.
