Alibaba Cloud and Deloitte China have jointly announced the opening of a new facility in China that will facilitate and foster application development for the automotive sector.

The automotive industry lead at Deloitte China, Andy Zhou, indicated, based on Deloitte's research, that China is positioned to become the world's largest autonomous vehicles market by 2035, with over 5.7 million autonomous vehicles by 2035.
"Chinese autonomous driving industry is pioneering a new era driven by technology competition, ecology, consumer perceptions, and regulations," said Zhou.
An astonishing 70 percent of China's automotive industry uses Alibaba's cloud services, commented Li Qiang, general manager of the vehicle industry unit, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.
"As software-defined vehicles become more popular, we are confident to support more enterprises' digitalisation journey and, eventually, be cloud-native to enjoy the benefits brought about by the digitalisation of the entire vehicle value chain."
Earlier this year, Alibaba Cloud partnered with VMware to help enterprises across China modernize apps faster and shift workloads at scale.
