Gigamon debuts global channel programme

Rocket ship launching

Networking vendor Gigamon (NYSE:GIMO) has launched its first worldwide formal partner programme

According to the vendor, the Gigamon Partner Programme features a range of financial benefits, sales and technical certifications, sales enablement tools and access to marketing resources.

“As our market continues to develop, our enhanced VAR Partner Programme will enable participating channel partners to leverage Gigamon’s differentiated technology with existing and future customers to support their evolution to the next generation business infrastructure,” comments Gigamon CEO, Paul Hooper

The vendor says the programme is designed around “a highly channel centric sales model” with joint business planning “at the heart of the partnership development model.” This will be supported by worldwide inside and field-based sales teams, lead generation and market awareness programmes.

It also includes pre and post-sales training certifications as well as marketing, sales and technical tools.

Also, Gigamon says partners that demonstrate a strong commitment to the firm will receive “generous” benefits.

“Partners are key to establishing scale and vital to Gigamon’s operations,” says Gigamon VP of worldwide channel sales, Scott Sullivan.

“We’ve been listening to our partners and have evolved our programme as an expression of our ongoing commitment to their success. We will continue to enhance the programme to provide partners with access to our expertise and new opportunities in this high growth market.”

There are three partner tiers to the programme: Silver, Gold and Platinum.

The Silver Partner level has been created for resellers just beginning their relationship with Gigamon. They are required to make a baseline investment in Gigamon sales and technical training.

Gold partners are more committed to selling Gigamon, and are expected to invest in Gigamon sales and technical training, for which they receive additional benefits in return.

The Platinum Partner level is for partners with more extensive Gigamon experience, and lead with Gigamon solutions. It is only awarded after a partner has performed at Platinum level requirements for two consecutive quarters and is maintained at what the firm describes as “appropriate levels”. Platinum Partners receive a number of additional benefits beyond the Silver and Gold Partner level.

Gigamon’s UK distributors are Arrow ECS and GCI.
