Synology signs Beta Distribution
New agreement with Beta Distribution to strengthen Synology's SMB sales

NAS vendor Synology has announced a new distribution agreement with Beta Distribution, which will offer its range to more than 2,000 resellers across the UK.
Beta is the fifth distie for Synology alongside existing agreements with CMS Distribution, Ingram Micro UK, VIP Computers and EET Europarts.
The deal with Beta will focus on “B2B distribution and this will allow us to reach a much wider market,” says Mike Chen, MD of Synology UK (pictured).
The vendor currently has around 30 larger resellers but Chen believes there “there are a lot more out there…” with Synology is aiming to grow its channel by around a quarter.
Ben Jackson, business manager at Beta Distribution adds: ‘From Synology’s point of view we will be putting their products and brand name in front a new audience and making their products more accessible than it’s ever been.”
Beta Distribution's portfolio includes data storage, audio visual, printer supplies, office stationery and digital photography with sales revenues for 2012/13 just over £127m.
Although initially building its brand through innovative dual bay consumer NAS devices, over the last few years Synology has extended its range with several SMB focused products. This trend is highlighted by the launch this month of its new RackStation 2414RP+, a 2U 12-bay rackmount NAS severs equipped with passive CPU cooling, system fan redundancy, hot-swappable drives, and 4 LAN ports with failover support.
