ASM Technologies partnership helps Getac expand in utilities

Two hands shaking over a desk

Rugged computer systems manufacturer, Getac, has signed a deal with ASM Technologies in order to expand its reach into larger organisations in its core markets including utilities, military & defence, emergency services and transportation.

The most sizable contract as a result of the partnership agreement is worth £800k and sees Getac supplying ruggedised tablets to the engineers of one of the UK’s big six energy companies.

Getac has now delivered on a number of sizable contracts through ASM and Peter Molyneux, president, Getac UK, comments, “ASM’s unique approach to agile distribution was critical for building the enterprise channel that we needed. We required a partner that had accreditation to supply and a strong working relationship with the major Enterprise customers in the UK. ASM has rounded out our go-to-market strategy so that we now have solutions from direct sales through to a range of partners for the SME market all the way up to enterprise.

ASM will offer the channel access to Getac’s ruggedised products and has enabled Getac to complete significant transactions that it would have previously found challenging to fulfil, according to Molyneux.

Stephen Dale, channel manager at ASM Technologies comments: “Getac’s products are trusted around the world to deliver reliable computing and communications in the harshest of environments. They are a truly respected brand in their field. We are thrilled to offer their products to our reseller customers.”
