UK desktop management company Modus Interactive has today confirmed it is partnering with Misco, as part of its efforts to establish its Powerwise software in the marketplace.

Powerwise 2009 is power saving software which manages network PC power usage and reduces carbon emissions, helping businesses to halve their energy costs. The small business range of Powerwise solutions is set to be launched as 10, 25, 50 and 100 PC versions.

“We’re very much on a reseller acquisition campaign at the moment,” Simon Isted, channel development, Modus Interactive, told Channel Pro. “We’re looking for companies that are conscious of the carbon emission issue – it’s very topical in central government, education, the public sector and it’s also a way for businesses to save money. The largest market for us though – and where we’ve seen the largest uptake – is in education. It’s a massive focus.”

He adds: “For the channel it’s a strong margin contribution opportunity, a worthy sell and an incremental proposition as a product offering.”

“We are always keen to work with new vendors and products that represent new sales and marketing opportunities for the Misco brand,” adds Sara Sommerville, business manager at Misco. “We are keen to embrace green IT solutions that are helping businesses reduce their overall costs and carbon emissions, but we are also keen to adopt and increase incremental business within our business divisions, in particular education and SME markets.”

Modus already has a distribution agreement in place with Enta Technologies.
