TIBCO acquires master data management leader Orchestra Networks

Infrastructure software firm TIBCO has announced the acquisition of Orchestra Networks, an industry leader in master data management (MDM) systems and data asset management.

The deal expands TIBCO‘s Connected Intelligence platform and addresses customers' “simple and complex” master data – data core to a business' operations - and data management needs “quickly and easily”, TIBCO said.

As part of the acquisition, Orchestra Networks’ innovative EBX platform – a single system for managing, governing and sharing master data, reference data and metadata assets – will now form part of the TIBCO data management portfolio.

"EBX, an industry-leading master data management solution, will be further amplified as part of the TIBCO Connected Intelligence Cloud," said Matt Quinn, chief operating officer at TIBCO.

“EBX customers will gain instant access to our leading integration and analytics capabilities for their data assets. Orchestra Networks brings an exceptional team that, with TIBCO, will continue to support their customers and partners."

EBX powers digital transformation for various types of businesses around the around the world, allowing companies to uniformly manage and distribute their master data, as well as handle reference data for accuracy of analytics. Many organisations also leverage the platform in order to comply with regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The move becomes the latest in a line of acquisitions for TIBCO, with the infrastructure software firm adding Cisco’s Data Virtualisation business, microservices company nanoscale.io, as well as data science firm Statistica to its portfolio back in 2017.
