Richard Carter returns to Nimans
Carter goes back to his roots to take up business development director role.
Ex-Rocom MD Richard Carter has returned to Nimans after a five-year absence.
Carter began his channel career at the Manchester firm, before departing for rival distributor Rocom in 2005, of which he later became MD. However, he left the post last year following the company’s acquisition by Nimans.
Carter is now set to take up the post of business development director at the distributor.
In a statement, Carter said: “The telecoms industry is in my blood and it’s great to be back. My car almost drove itself to the office on the first day. Both companies represent a combined career investment of 25 years for me and I want to build on what’s been achieved so far. It’s been great to see some familiar faces and I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”
Chairman Julian Niman describes Carter as “an old friend” and said the appointment follows six months of planning the new management team. We welcome an old friend and ex director Richard back to the company.
Julian added: “Richard has always worked within telecoms distribution and brings a wealth of experience. We have a great team to take us forward. The combined distribution experience of the Board is in excess of 100 years. Below the board is even more years of expertise in terms of senior management and long serving staff. Added together there is more than 250 years of experience in the company which is more than any other competitor in the UK or Europe.”
He emphasised: “We have some major long term plans going forward as we look to significantly expand our revenue streams. There are very few people who know this company and industry as well as Richard. Together with the other board members, he is the ideal person to help us reach our goals.”
