Progress Distribution has announced the arrival of its new Business in Progress (BIP) app, which the security distributor and sales accelerator says will ultimately help channel partners to boost their sales numbers.

Designed with the channel's specific needs in mind, the app pulls together and streamlines a whole host of business information and functionality into one convenient software package.

With BIP, users can access full details of vendors, product information, videos, as well as sales and marketing collateral for greater control over business dealings and strategies. There's also a deal registration facility, finance solutions, rewards and promotions available at the tap of a screen.

The app even helps users stay up-to-date with new leads, as well as receive push notifications as soon as vendors issue important updates – making it easier to plan ahead and close business deals.

"Since the inception of the company, Progress has focused on proactively supporting our partners and help with accelerating sales with an extensive array of business development services," said John Quinn, CEO at Progress Distribution. "The BIP app is the latest, and perhaps, the most important sales tool we have developed for channel partners."

"It gives partners all the possible information they could ever need, updated dynamically, to enable them to be more effective and persuasive in closing business."

Launched at the firm's' 2nd Annual Partner Conference in Javea, Spain, BIP is now available from Google Play for Android users, with the app soon to go live on Apple's App Store.

Meanwhile, Progress Distribution has also announced that former channel director Simon Burgess has been promoted to the role of UK managing director, in recognition of his successful development of the channel and record of building lasting relationships with partners. The company said the move will enable CEO John Quinn to focus on its growing presence in Europe and its offices in Germany, Ireland and Sweden.
