Fujitsu is helping to drive datacentre transformation by announcing new options that enable businesses to run mission-critical SAP HANA workloads on a hyper-converged infrastructure.

With the firm’s Integrated System PRIMEFLEX for VMware vSAN end-to-end infrastructure solution, the company claims businesses can manage and scale fully-virtualised SAP environments and reap the benefits of decoupling compute, storage and networking capabilities from the underlying hardware.

The result is a cloud-like setup that virtualises entire datacentres running all workloads - including applications running on SAP HANA - on a common, software-defined system.

Built on best-in-class components, PRIMEFLEX for VMware vSAN includes high-performance, four-socket Fujitsu PRIMENERGY x86 servers, VMware virtualisation software vSAN and is fully optimised for SAP HANA and other applications that leverage the speed of in-memory databases.

The solution allows these high-performance applications to be scaled according to demand, whilst optimised on-premise resources provide cost savings and drive the performance of data-rich applications, according to Fujitsu.

Enterprises are also able to plan for the future growth of SAP solutions, while the hyper-converged approach helps prepare the foundations for future cloud integration, it added.

PRIMEFLEX for VMware vSAN ides designed to give businesses greater control through a range of management options. It is available now in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa.

The integrated Fujitsu ServerView server management suite simplifies datacentre operation, enabling advanced monitoring and management of all critical hardware components. The Fujitsu Software Infrastructure Manager also provides organisations with centralised control over entire datacentres, while the Fujitsu Software Enterprise Service Catalog Manager acts as the stepping stone to future hybrid-cloud transformation.

The company also offers a comprehensive package of consultation, integration and support services for businesses looking to implement the solution.
