DataSolutions sinks £220k into UK distie agreement

DataSolutions has penned a distribution agreement, worth £220,000, with data loss prevention expert Safetica to help the company break into the UK and Ireland markets.

The IT distributor decided to take on Safetica because it understands the growing threat of data breaches across enterprises. It wanted to be able to offer a stable platform that would both alert managers if data is used in a way that could lead to a breach and can also audit systems and processes across the organisation to ensure preventative measures are put into place.

Sensitive data is continuously monitored and if Safetica’s tools detects the data is being processed in an unsafe manner, it will be highlighted to the relevant personnel.

“As we approach the first anniversary of the introduction of GDPR and we start to see the first big fines to big companies being announced it is still debatable whether many smaller organisations have got a handle on how to adequately handle and protect their data,” said Andrew Clark, UK security channel director at DataSolutions.

“Insider threats pose the biggest risk to businesses and Safetica’s DLP solution not only provides organisations with an overview of how its sensitive data flows through the system, but puts control of sensitive data back in management’s hands.”

Clark added that DataSolutions was impressed by how quickly Safetica’s DLP system could be rolled out. Businesses can be up and running in just a day, rather than a month, which is how long it takes the average DLP system to be implemented.

“The cost and timeframe of these projects put DLP implementation out of reach for many smaller and mid-size businesses in Ireland and the UK, so we are excited to offer an affordable and impactful solution which will make a real difference in the market,” he said.

DataSolutions has invested heavily to secure the exclusive distribution rights of Safetica’s products in the region. The money will be invested in developing the technology behind the platform, taking on new staff members to build relationships with partners and an aggressive marketing strategy.

“DataSolutions is the perfect match for Safetica – an experienced value-added distributor who is able to build strong relationships with our mutual customers,” Petr Zikes, CEO of Safetica Technologies added.

“While many vendors have tweaked their offering to cover off GDPR aspects, there is a clear demand in the UK and Irish markets for a specialist DLP solution built from the ground up. DataSolutions share our passion in delivering cutting-edge security solutions and outstanding customer support, and we are thrilled to take on this opportunity together.”
