Druva hires Rick Powles as EMEA VP
Former Acronis MD recruited to oversee Druva’s EMEA operations

Endpoint data protection vendor Druva has named former Acronis UK&I managing director Rick Powles to the new position of regional vice president for EMEA.
The firm recently spoke about its efforts to build out a channel base in Europe, with Powles now in charge of driving growth across the region. His appointment follows a $25m Series D funding round announced in August.
Prior to Acronis Powles (pictured) held senior sales and management roles at Oracle, VERITAS/Symantec, Commvault and Informatica.
“Gaining control over enterprise information on employee devices is becoming a critical IT priority that is not being adequately addressed by traditional backup vendors. Druva was among the first to recognise this need,” comments Powles.
“Virtually every organisation needs to add this kind of product to its infrastructure, and that gives me a nearly unlimited opportunity to help Druva grow its business.”
“Endpoint data backup is an emerging market in EMEA and elsewhere,” adds says Jaspreet Singh, Druva founder and CEO. “Companies need it, but they typically don’t know how to go about it, and they don’t realise that there’s more to protecting the data on employee devices than backup.
“Rick’s deep experience with server backup and his understanding of the EMEA market make him the ideal candidate to drive our business in the region, expand our channel and field operations, and ensure that Druva gains and retains the leading market share in the space.”
Druva’s inSync platform uniquely integrates automated endpoint backup, data loss prevention, IT-managed filesharing, and data governance tools.
